An essential thing for you is to remind yourself that hair loss is a continuing phenomena and you will absolutely have to consider some treatment to reduce the ongoing rate of hair loss. Any rate of hair fall today will only increase in the coming years, and if your operation is at grade-4 at an early age, then in 5-8 years, we will reach grade-6. You can do this by taking Finasteride, which is testosterone blocker and it needs a hundred percent stop fall by blocking the hormone responsible for hair fall. This medicine is effective in over 90 percent of patients who use this medicine and the risk rate is very low. It has been shown in trial that most of the effects of psychological, and any side effect are hundred percent reversible on stopping the drug.

The second medicine that we recommend is Minoxidil. This works by increasing the blood flow of the scalp and makes the hair roots stronger. Starting with two percent, one or two times a day, we gradually increase to five percent over a few years.

The third medicine that we prescribe is cyclical treatment – use of vitamins and essential minerals in a cyclical format to provide essential supplements for hair and skin. This has an excellent effect on the vitality of the hair. We can use the vitamins as an alternate to finasteride initially. All medicines will take at least six weeks to start showing its benefits. They have to be used on a daily basis. It is like taking medicines for blood pressure. If you don’t take them daily, the problem with not be controlled. Thus, hair loss has to be considered an illness.

Hair Fibres: We often recommend hair fibres to cover areas of thinning, especially in women. Use of hair fibres is easy, taking 30 seconds or so. Fibres allow delaying of hair transplant for a few years and give a

pretty dense look if applied properly. Post hair transplant, hair fibres are absolutely safe for temporary coverage. We have our own brand of hair fibres that are sourced using the best material available worldwide, at very optimal pricing.

Hair Transplant Options
We believe that all techniques produce equally good results. No one technique is perfect and each technique has its advantages and problems. Each technique leaves scars and each has its small recovery period. I feel the biggest advantage of FUT is the larger number of hair grafts that can be extracted without overall reduction in densities.

Option-1: We believe one of the best option is FUT or Strip method. A hair bearing strip is removed from the back portion of the head and each follicular unit is then separated from the strip. The follicular unit is then individually implanted into the recipient zone. The area at the back of the head is then closed in the most meticulous manner. You can actually see some hair growth through the scar, and there is rarely any hairless scar region present. Nearly 100 percent of the follicle units that are separated from the strip are available for implantation and are absolutely viable. In fact in men with curly hair, this technique is the only recommended procedure in order to get 100 percent success rates.

Option-2: FUE-follicular unit extraction necessitates the requirement to shave off the head down to almost 1 mm. The procedure involves individual follicular unit removal using a special punch technique. These punches vary between 0.6-0.8 mm leaving very fine scars at the back of the head which are only visible if complete shaving is done. Biggest advantage of this technique is that the scars are not visible even if the patient maintains a short haircut. The disadvantage of this technique is the relatively less number of hair follicle units that can be extracted and overall decrease in density of the donor area with repeated sessions. FUE is a relatively blind technique and is not recommended for people with thin hair, especially women or in men who have very curly hair. The doctor's expertise is of extreme importance in this technique since this approach is a blind procedure and the viability of the graphs depend on how well the doctor is able to manage the procedure.

Option-3: Our special MMFT technique. In this technique which is published in plastic surgery journals, we do a combination of the above two techniques in order to achieve a much larger number of follicle grafts in one session, allowing large coverage as well as great density as well as to minimise the individual side effects of any procedure.

Option-4: Robotic hair transplant – A significant improvement of the FUE technique allowing a robotic interface with better precision and results.

Option-5:Long Hair transplant – Some people cannot afford to take time off from office or their work situation. In them, we perform the long hair transplant which involves transplantation of follicular units with long hair shafts. This procedure takes considerable more time to perform and is consequently a little bit more expensive. However, it allows the person to get back to their office or routine activity as soon as two days after the procedure without any evidence of having done hair transplant. All hair transplant procedures last between 3-6 hours depending on the number of hair that are implanted and the technique that is used.
