It has been a field year for adventure travel people are searching for new journeys, experiences and ideas to make the most of their travel experiences. Topping the list are offbeat experiences. Travellers no longer want the same cookie-cutter experiences they are looking for something more personalized and off-the-map.

It is a myth that you can enjoy adventure activities only if you are of a certain age bracket. All you need is a passion to discover and explore new destinations and a desire to do something out of the box. Very often we see people of advanced ages scaling mountains, doing high altitude trekking and cycling, and generally leading a very active lifestyle for their age.

So what makes them tick? Why and how can they do what they do?

Adventure is a habit to nurture!
A true adventure traveler is not limited by his age or health. He grows and trains to be a one over the years. And in this journey fitness plays an important role.

There are a lot of people who have undertaken high altitude treks like the Everest Base Camp and Kailash Mansarovar in their late 60s and 70s. They are far more fit and healthy than
an average millennial of 20 or 25 years of age. The differentiating factor is the way they have taken care of their health and lifestyle over the years.

The modern day lifestyle is quite a sedentary one and has led to natural deficit disorder, meaning, that people spend more time indoors than outdoors leading to physical and psychological barriers from nature lifestyle diseases are on the rise. The need is to create an awareness about health and fitness which leads to an elevated sense of energy and overall well being. And nothing beats the idea of coming close to nature or heading outdoors.

Preparing kids for life!
The preparation for a healthy and fit life starts right from childhood. It is when the kids are allowed to go for camping, boot camps and indulge into daily activities that the habits of outdoor survival are achieved. Children here grow to build a life outside their house and learn about various aspects of nature, self cooking, hunting food, survival experiences and more. With planned daily activities parents can learn to let their children go. The children are able to pick up activities like rappelling, hiking, climbing etc. in a safe environment.

Starting early with teachings of swimming, running, nine hiking, etc helps children grow to be stronger, both mentally and physically. It brings a sense of selfsurvival. As any adventurous activity requires one to be fit and healthy, the love of the kids towards outdoor activities and routine indulgences keep their health in check.

It is when the habits of nature and outdoor living is inculcated from the very beginning that there comes a life style which is capable of taking adventurous challenges.

Health and fitness:
A lot of us complain of fatigue and tiredness in our routine lives. The sedentary lifestyle paired with unhealthy food choices has left us to lead a life which is limited to indoor activities alone. The disconnect with nature is limiting our horizons, leaving no trace for any adventure or challenging activities.

Indulge into healthy activities and include at least 30-45 minutes of exercise in their daily schedule to uplift their health. There can be various ways to improve your health like Yoga, meditation, running, dancing, zumba, walking, or adventure depending on your ability.. strength and agility can be built by pushing your limits regularly over the course of time.

If you’re in the best of health, you won’t have to think twice before doing any physically strenuous activity.

Adventurous activities aren’t just fun or dose of thrill but rather, lifestyle.. Go pursue your adventure, but mindfully!
